Does anyone know if I can run a vg30dett crank out of a z32 in a z31 vg30de that came out of a 2+2 model? I mean the blocks are the same and everything just wondering.

I thought the z31 was a vg30e sohc and the z32 was vg30De dohc

the 2+2 model had the first vg30de and you are right the z31 most came with the vg30e turboed or not. But with the 2+2 they needed a stronger motor so the dropped a sohc de in it. so I would think since they are all the same block that it would work.

sometimes the numbers get's freaking supercede... and it's a bitch to find out.. and i worked at freaking nissan's part department.. i be spending mass hours cross-referencing parts

I found out from Danny Muir that the are different and I am now working on getting a crank through him.

And the build starts soon.

yes waste if space your math did not fail you. But I ran the block vin number and it turns out it is just a vg30e block.
